Nominations for the 2024 Youth Awards closed Wednesday 3rd July, and we have started the shortlisting and judging process. We will be in contact with all nominees before the end of July to confirm the finalists, and notify those who have missed out on an award this year.

This annual event recognises Western Australians aged 10 to 25 years for their achievements and contributions to the community.

The Youth Awards recognise and reward young people for their achievements and significant work in the community.

Now in its 25th year, the Awards also acknowledge the work that the youth sector delivers to support young people.

Winners of the following categories will be announced at the 2024 WA Youth Awards:

  • Minister for Youth’s Most Outstanding Youth Worker Award;
  • Commissioner for Children and Young People Participate Award;
  • MercyCare Positive Achievement Award;
  • Edith Cowan University Community Leadership Award;
  • Parkerville Children and Youth Care Creative Contribution Award;
  • The Y WA Collective Action Award;
  • Youth Focus Sector Collaboration Award;
  • Youth Futures Innovation for a Sustainable Future Award;
  • Mission Australia Young Changemaker Award;
  • Carers WA Milestone Award; and
  • The Charmaine Dragun Memorial Award

Category winners receive a $1,000 prize.

The WA Young Person of the Year award will be selected from the above categories, which honour individuals. The WA Young Person of the Year receives a $10,000 project allowance to pursue youth-related initiatives across WA.

The WA Youth Awards take place on Friday 20 September at the Ritz Carlton Ballroom.

Come along to celebrate the accomplishments of our state’s young people and the youth sector that supports them at a gala dinner, in the prestigious Ballroom at the Ritz Carlton Ballroom.
