In November 2021, YACWA hosted its inaugural Midwest Youth Sector Forum in Geraldton. The aim of the forum was to explore the strengths and challenges of the Midwest and to create a space for sector to come together to map out approaches and solutions that could create better outcomes for the young people of the Midwest. The event focused on several issues impacting young people in the region, including mental health, child protection, housing and homelessness, education, employment, alcohol and other drugs and youth justice. The forum was attended by a diversity of over 60 youth sector professionals, from front lines workers and service managers to local and state government officials.
